The Brown Hill Seventh-day Adventist congregation began as a company in early 2003, following a crusade led by Evangelist Roosevelt Daniels. Members from the Charlestown and Gingerland churches came together with the goal of establishing a church in the Brown Hill community. From its humble beginnings, the church has continued to progress and grow spiritually and in membership. It has remained active in community outreach, evangelism, and youth involvement, strengthening its presence in the Brown Hill community. Through unity, faith, and dedication, the church continues to build on the foundation laid in 2003, serving as a place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual development for its members and the wider community.
At the beginning, the company had no land or building, so worship services were first held at Fort Charles from March 23, 2003. Regular Sabbath services, midweek meetings, and community outreach in Bath Village helped to strengthen fellowship and grow the group.
In May 2003, the company moved to a tent on land owned by Sis. Heather Boddie, where they continued worshipping. She later donated land, making it possible for a permanent church building to be constructed.
By September 2003, the building was completed, and the company transitioned into a church, moving into their new place of worship with gratitude to God.
The church was officially dedicated in July 2006. The early membership included 59 baptized members, forming a strong foundation for the congregation’s growth.
